The Long Corridor
Seven hundred metres of painted beams, and one afternoon to read them.
The Long Corridor is 728 metres of painted beams and repeating frames. You do not photograph it whole; you photograph its rhythm.
Seven hundred metres
I used the columns as a metronome: one arch, one shadow, one rectangle of lake. A woman stopped to look at a painting; a child ran through the frame; the light moved from the floor to the wall.

What I carried
One camera, one lens, a cloth for the humidity. The Z8’s monochrome mode is a good way to stop looking at colour when colour is not the subject.
