Dusk of Victoria Harbour

A skyline that never quite settles, and the twenty minutes it holds still.

Victoria Harbour, 20:10

Hong Kong holds still for about twenty minutes after the sun goes down. The ferries keep moving, the lights come on, and the sky keeps a thin band of blue.

Twenty minutes of stillness

From the Peak, the city looks like a circuit board that someone has just switched on. I waited for the moment when the sky and the buildings had the same weight.

The last ferry

The last ferry crossed below while I was changing lenses. I missed it. The next frame was better: the harbour empty, the city holding its breath.
